What is the Indigo Evolution?

Forgive me, I'm in one of those states where everything just "flows" and you feel compelled to speak. Something different happened, though, because I noticed that even if we have this inspiration, this vibrant silent energy welling up within you, it doesn't mean that what will come out is true. It's still your view, your attitude, your conditioning. Noticing that, I hope, will help me write this....

Many of us hope for Indigos. We strive for a world where such changes will topple down those "old empires" spoken of in Maynard's song, "Indigo Children."

Being called one of these children myself, I have to also pass a word of warning to you. Please look within yourselves, and be cautious of your attitudes about what it is to be an indigo. I suffer from this same affliction. As much as I want to see indigos rise up and deconstruct the old way of life, that cannot happen if we are going to continue to idealize ourselves. Those who do not consider themselves indigos, but feel they are raising indigos must be careful of idealizing them. They create a pedestal for the children, but we are organic beings. We do not wish to be singled out, because we are pointing out what is already true and in you, all of you. By idealizing us and promoting us. you only seek to divide, and to find security in a new concept. Please do not do this, it pains me to see those who seek to abandon the "old empire," begin to create one themselves. This kingdom, I'm afraid, is one that is boundless. There are no borders here, and we roam free. Look within yourselves and see how you divide yourself from the world. "I" exists separate from "other" only superficially. This is an insight we must recognize.

I know many of you will read what indigos and spiritual teachers have to say, and you will only see it through the veil of the mind- through ideas and stories. We emerge from a civilization of story-tellers. This is the last story to tell: To realize we are the weaver of dreams. Even the ego is just another manifestation of this. The "I" is just another thing arising. To be an indigo, it seems, has one loose definition: souls that have recognized more and more how superficial their difference is, how united they already are with the ground of being, of light, of love, of -suchness-. The more you see this, the less of a burden you carry. Old souls seem to grow up quickly, to be system busters because they no longer identify with these previous attachments; money, wealth, power, experience.

This is alot to take in. So please stay a moment in "presence," empty your mind and become more aware of your true self, which is simply being, nothing more, nothing less. It is between, as Krishnamurti put it, "This and that." You are that.

Before I realized I was indigo, my aunt, a reiki master and a deeply spiritual woman was talking about what indigo children were. "That sounds like me," I muttered. She looked at me for a minute, and then said, smiling sympathetically, "Oh, believe me, you don't want to be indigo."

    She has a point.

For me, being indigo is not a solitary thing. I believe the Indigos are here to work together, not to topple old empires, but steer the old, new, and future empires to improve our world. One person cannot do this alone, which is why there was a mass awakening of the lightworkers, and why the Indigos came en mass during the 70s and 80s. We as indigos have the warrior spirit in all of us, which is why we need to work together to make way for the Crystal Children. They will be the ones to effectively make an impact, again "they" meaning more than just one person will be needed to make a difference.

But this is my interpretation and it may be completely different from someone else's, but to me this feels right.

To be a system buster, to help our empire evolve from the self-consuming demon to something greater and transformational- I wonder if we need to be indigos for this? Do those who lead truly need to be 'awakened' in the truest, transpersonal sense? It concerns me, because at times I feel that if we are acting from the same state of consciousness as we have been, we will only perpetuate the sickness of mind that ravages the empire. If my mind is broken, how can I heal yours? There are always stories we resonate with. Maybe that's what we need, but the difference I hope, indigos learn is that the story we become impassioned with is not necessarily the bigger picture, but just what we need to hear now in order to grow...

        You are absolutely right.
No you don't have to be an indigo to feel the injustices in the world and want change. People have been crusading for a better world since time immemorial, before there was a term or as some call it a label of being indigo. If you mean leaders of this battle, if they need to be awakened, I wouldn't say they "need to be 'awakened' in the truest, transpersonal sense" but they are already aware that there is something wrong and they feel the need to fight for justice. This may be a little personal battle of their school system, or local government, but it could be a broader issue such as the environment, or oppression, or civil liberties. Your concern is valid. But I have faith that the ones, whether indigo, crystal or otherwise, who make a difference, who fight for right and balance in the universe are not from the same state of consciousness, they are of a higher consciousness. They don't fight with their ego, as we have seen in history. Those that fight from their ego are not helping anything, they are perpetuating what is wrong now.

Awesome! Well, then it seems like many people are being called 'indigos' because things are changing, shifting, and things are not as they once were. The newer generations are born within the shift and see the world differently.... At the very least. They are the ones who are trying to break free, to lead themselves and everyone else out- all the while trying to figure it out. I guess there is a difference between an indigo and an old soul.... not to belittle or make grand either.... but it has always been my view that indigos are rare indeed. Not as rare as they once were, but spiritually, they have little baggage to carry from previous lifetimes, and do not fall into the traps many of us do. Because of this, they can help others see through their own faults, their own baggage or 'karma' of past lives and this life. They can help them see themselves in their truest light. "Roaming free," they invite others to join them. "You're already here," they might say, "the truth is already, always present." And this, I see as the system busters. In an old analogy, we have been using candles to light our way for so long. The sage is the person who simply tells you, "Look, there is the sun abounding, blow out that candle and walk with me." The system no longer has its appeal, a new way of breathing, living, walking emerges by them simply being present. Thundering silence trembles in the cosmos, and a cherry blossom falls.

As a side note and maybe a summary of my reflection: So many of us are crowding around the teachings of wise ones, but we are not living them, we are living in the idea of them. Maybe that is ok, and a necessary step... But important to for us to see that...

Yes! Can i just say that i feel we are already here. This is it. Right now. We are not waiting for anything. We are already "enlightened". We are perfect already as we are.

I was given a vision. It showed humanity climbing and trudging up a mountain. We were moving, but very slowly. It took effort and force. And then one of us realized we had wings. and then the others, and we began to fly up the mountain. it was easy. BUT then God told us we could fly if we'd like BUT THERE IS NO MOUNTAIN. This is my truth. I'm not here to convince anyone of it. But the way I saw the world or universe is in a way that we're all going around acting like there is a mountain of enlightenment to climb where there isn't. We are already on the other shore. And i've had people tell me that that's rubbish and that's okay with me today. I see the world as Perfect. but i don't see it with the same eyes prior to the vision. I'm not looking at the world from the same 3D perspective I once was. Yes, there are ways we can be examples and those invitations to be Examples require a world of duality. And it's Perfect. Everything is unfolding beautifully.

Love is all there is. We are making the rest up.
